100th win for Erin Sullivan as Western New England College blanks Colby-Sawyer

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Western New England College men's soccer team presented coach Erin Sullivan with his 100th career victory with a 1-0 win over visiting Colby-Sawyer Saturday (Oct. 13).

Sullivan, a 1996 graduate of Williams, has a 100-55-15 record (58.8%) in eight seasons. He is only the second Golden Bears' coach to reach the milestone. Legendary coach Bill Downes compiled a 182-127-31 record from (1970-89).

Junior Dan Hare (Staatsburg, NY) notched the game-winner in the 40th minute with his fourth goal of the season and the Golden Bears' defense came up with a strong effort in compiling its sixth shutout of the season.

The College honored seniors Steve Hennessey (Essex Junction, VT) (four saves), Dan Lawrence (Easthampton, MA), Mike Stewart (Springfield, MA), Matt Sullivan (Springfield, MA), and Ben Wells (Morrisville, VT) during the Senior Day ceremony before the contest.

Freshman keeper Will Berry (Berlin, VT) stopped eight shots for the Chargers who drop to 6-7-2 overall and 6-3-1 in the conference.

Western New England College now has a 9-4-2 record and 7-2 mark in TCCC.
