PAXTON, Mass. - Freshman Tara Breslawski (North Babylon, NY) scored twice to lead a balanced attack as the Western New England College field hockey team posted a 6-1 victory over host Anna Maria Saturday afternoon (Oct. 18).

This was only the second win of the season for the Golden Bears who are now 2-13 overall and 2-4 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

WNEC scored three times in each half with Breslawski starting the scoring just 8:33 into the contest.

Seniors Jessica Abelson (Pittsford, NY) and Caitlin Gelber (Centereach, NY) also netted goals in the opening 35 minutes.

In the second half, sophomore Amy Hedberg (Guilford, CT), Breslawski, and sophomore Kaela Jalbert (Turner, ME) had goals to round out the scoring.

Freshman goalie Lindsey Orszulak (Longmeadow, MA) played the opening half and made three saves. Sophomore Megan Jones (Keene, NH) compiled six saves in the second stanza.

Katie Schebel had the lone goal for the Amcats, which made the score 4-1 at the 42:43 mark. Allyssa Boykin finished with 11 saves.

Anna Maria drops to 2-13 as well and 1-6 in the conference.
