Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Playing for the first time since December 12, Western New England College scored twice in the second period in gaining a 2-2 tie with visiting Plymouth State in an ECAC Northeast men's hockey game Tuesday night (Jan. 6) at Smead Arena.
The Panthers took a 2-0 lead after the opening period following goals by senior forward Chris Cantara (Pelham, NH) at the 7:51 mark and sophomore defenseman Kyle Tobin (Kanata, ON) at 15:57. Sophomore forward Seth McQuade (Manchester, NH) assisted on the opening score while junior forward Chris Chambers (Crofton, MD) earned the assist on the second goal.
WNEC rallied pulling with one when senior forward Craig Reyell (West Chazy, NY) scored on a power play at 4:49 with assists from freshman center Kory Grahl (San Diego, CA) and senior forward Mike Majesty (Chicago, IL).
A pair of freshmen knotted the game when forward Mike Kaselouskas (East Longmeadow, MA) scored at 16:31 with assist from defenseman Joe Deptula (Anchorage, AK).
Plymouth State freshman goalie Allen Schneider (Strongsville, OH) finished with 38 saves while junior Dennis Harrsch (Morrisonville, NY) stopped 20 shots for WNEC.
The Golden Bears now have a 1-9-1 record (1-6-1 ECAC Northeast) while the Panthers are 3-8-1 (2-4-1 ECAC).
