WENHAM, Mass. - Sophomore forward Clara Baker (Underhill, VT) fired home a goal 53 seconds into the game and that was enough to send the Gordon field hockey team to a 1-0 victory over visiting Western New England College Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 13).

The win gave the Fighting Scots an overall 3-10 record and 2-3 mark in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

The Golden Bears drop to 3-11 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

Gordon dominated the opening half out-shooting WNEC by a 9-2 margin, but couldn't score thanks manly to the stellar work of sophomore goalie Lindsay Orszulak (Longmeadow, MA) who compiled five of her six saves.

Both teams struggled to create quality scoring chances in the second.

Sophomore Alicia L'Heureux (Dudley, MA) finished with three saves for the home team.
