Justin Martins (Ludlow, MA) each scored a goal and had an assist as the Western New England College men's soccer team bounced back to its winning ways in a 4-0 win over Colby-Sawyer College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) on Tuesday (Sept. 22) at Suprenant Field.
Western New England College improves its record to 4-4-1 overall and 1-2 in TCCC action as Colby-Sawyer drops to 1-5 and 0-3 in conference play.
Senior midfielder
Tony Rosa (Ludlow, MA) ignited the scoring for the Golden Bears in the first half at the 38:37 mark while the defense kept Colby-Sawyer off the board for a 1-0 lead.
WNEC exploded in the second frame led by Gomes who scored 59 seconds in off a corner kick fed by Martins.
Martins put in the third goal at the 58:55 mark assisted by sophomore forward
Ben Ritter (Weston, MA) and Gomes. Freshman forward
Tony DeCato (Winsted, CT) finished the scoring attack from a cross pass fed by sophomore midfielder
Alex Rosario (Chicopee, MA). Junior defenseman
John Stather (Foxboro, MA) had the secondary assist.

Kyle Bak (Cumberland, RI) finished with six saves and freshman
Nick Starr (Somers, CT) saw some playing time and had two saves for Western New England College.
