Shawn Fitzpatrick (Burnt Hill, NY) as the Western New England College men's soccer team beat Westfield State 2-0 in the opening round match of the Soccer City Shootout Saturday (Sept. 5) at Suprenant Field.
This was the season opener for the Golden Bears who will meet city rival Springfield (a 3-0 winner over Husson in the second game) in the championship match at 3:00 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 6).
Westfield State (0-1-1) will play Husson (0-2) in the consolation match at Noon.
