PAXTON, Mass. - Senior forward Amy Hedberg (Guilford, CT) scored two goals to lead the Western New England College field hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Anna Maria Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 12).

The Golden Bears snapped a three-game skid to improve their record to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

After a scoreless first half, Hedberg tallied her first goal at the 46:37 mark and again at 60:43 with an assist from sophomore midfielder Lindsay Lalonde (Middlebury, VT).

Senior defender Erin Griffin (Lowell, MA) netted the final goal with 5:51 left as sophomore defender Shelby Van Huysen (Killingworth, CT) earned the assist.

Sophomore goalie Kaitlyn Hall (Pawtucket, RI) compiled three saves for the Golden Bears.

Western New England College had a 20-6 advantage in shots and 13-5 edge in penalty corners.

Senior Allyssa Boykin (Worcester, MA) stopped 11 shots for the AMCATS who fall to 1-12 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
