SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore midfielder Nomindari Goulden (Rutledge, PA) scored a pair of goals to lead Smith College to a 3-2 win over Western New England College in non-conference action on Thursday (Oct. 14) night at Golden Bear Stadium.

The Pioneers improve to 4-7 on the year; while the Golden Bears drop to 5-10 on the season.

The Golden Bears jumped out to an early lead as sophomore midfielder Lindsay Lalonde (East Middlebury, VT) scored at 15:25.

Smith College equalized just four minutes later on Goulden's first goal, assisted by senior midfielder Natalie Wickles (Hatfield, MA).

Western New England College took a 2-1 advantage on a goal by freshman midfielder Jaynie Mueller (Colorado Springs, CO) at 40:37, assisted by senior midfielder Erin Griffin (Lowell, MA).

The Pioneer's again answered back quickly as Goulden scored her second goal of the game at 46:45 off an assist by freshman forward Alexandra Stein (Ann Arbor, MI).

Stein notched the game-winner at 60:18 to seal the victory for the visitors.

Freshman goalkeeper Savannah Lawson (Vineyard Haven, MA) made 10 saves to pick up the victory.

Golden Bear freshman goalkeeper Brittney O'Brien (Carver, MA) recorded eight saves.

Western New England College returns to action on Wednesday (Oct. 20) as they travel to Simmons for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
