SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Western New England College men's soccer team battled Gordon to a scoreless tie on Saturday (Oct. 16) in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) match during Family & Friends Weekend.

The Golden Bears now stand at 10-4-2 overall with an 8-1-1 mark in conference play. The Fighting Scots are 6-4-4 overall and  5-1-4 in the conference.

Western New England College held a 14-9 advantage in shots with a 9-5 edge in shots on goal.

Both sides had opportunities with the best chance coming for the Golden Bears when freshman forward Andrew Rose (Farmington, CT) sent a cross in for senior midfielder Justin Martins (Ludlow, MA) with just seconds remaining in regulation.

Western New England College junior goalkeeper Sean Healey (Portland, CT) recorded five saves while
Gordon sophomore  Alex Sosler (Willoughby, OH) stopped nine shots.

The Golden Bears return to action on Wednesday (Oct. 20) as they travel to Newport, RI to take on TCCC rival Salve Regina at 3:30 p.m. in a crucial match.
