NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Western New England College men's soccer team earned its fourth straight shutout with a 3-0 victory over Colby-Sawyer in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) match on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 9).
The Golden Bears improve to 9-4-1 overall and take over first place in the conference with a 7-1 record. Colby-Sawyer falls to 6-6 overall and 5-2 in TCCC play.

Shawn Fitzpatrick (Burnt Hills, NY) opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with an assist from junior midfielder
Corey Howard (Hopedale, MA).
The Golden Bears increased their lead when freshman midfielder
Kevin Parma (Peconic, NY) scored in the 48th minute. Senior midfielder
Justin Martins (Ludlow, MA) and junior midfielder
Eric Marcelino (Farmington, CT) picked up the assists on the play.
Martins scored less than a minute and a half later off a cross from senior midfielder
Alex Dos Santos (Ludlow, MA).
The Golden Bears held a 26-4 edge in shots and a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Sean Healey (Portland, CT) earned the shutout and made one save.
Colby-Sawyer junior goalkeeper
Will Berry (Berlin, VT) stopped 13 shots in the contest.
Western New England College returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 12) at 3:30 p.m. in Bristol, RI to take on Roger Williams in a crucial TCCC match.
