SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior defender
Kathleen Jasinski (Templeton, MA) scored the game-winning goal just 3:33 into overtime to lead Western New England to a 3-2 victory over Salve Regina on Saturday (Sept. 17) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener for both teams.
The Golden Bears improve to 2-4 (1-0 CCC) after claiming the second straight win; while the Seahawks slip to 2-4 (0-1 CCC).

Salve Regina applied pressure early in the first overtime period, but it was WNE who was able to capitalize on counter attack as Jasinski tallied the game winner on a rebound effort after sophomore midfielder
Kim Perez (Westfield, MA) had her chance turned away by Salve Regina freshman goalkeeper

The Golden Bears held a 20-14 edge in shots, and held a decisive 17-6 advantage in penalty corners.
Junior goalkeeper
Kaitlyn Hall (Pawtucket, RI) made six saves to record the win in net; while McCann had 10 saves in the losing effort.
Western New England returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 20) as they travel to Mount Holyoke for a 7:00 p.m. non-league contest.
