BOSTON--Western New England University and Wentworth battled to a scoreless draw in double overtime in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer action on Wednesday. The Golden Bears now stand 5-5-2 overall, including 2-1-1 in the conference, while the Leopards currently sit at 1-7-2 and 1-2-1.
The teams combined for 44 shots (WNE had 23) after 110 minutes, but it was Western New England that put the pressure on in both extra sessions. The visitors outshot Wentworth 4-0 in the first overtime, then 4-3 in the second, but couldn't break through for the game-winner. In the last three minutes of the game,
Kevin Parma had a shot blocked and
Shawn DaCruz's attempt at goal was stopped by Cody Gibb in the waning seconds. DaCruz also hit the post with 26 ticks left in the first overtime period.

Western New England had three chances in the first 17 minutes of action, but all were thwarted by Gibb. In the 32nd minute, the Golden Bears had another opportunity to break the ice when Gibb came out to break up a play. However, Western New England freshman
Chad Burke would take a shot into an open net that was cleared out by a Wentworth back line player.
The Leopards applied pressure in the second half and had a fair number of chances to score, including when Bobby Tzaneros' shot just sailed over the crossbar in the 50th minute. Wentworth also had a chance in the 85th minute, however LaVallee (Bristol, Conn.) made a save to keep the game scoreless.
Wentworth had a chance off of a corner kick in the opening seconds of the second overtime, but a shot attempt was blocked and cleared out.
