Box Score DUDLEY, Mass.--Emily Widdison scored the only goal of the game with 3 minutes and 57 seconds remaining to lift Nichols College to a 1-0 victory Friday over visiting Western New England University in Commonwealth Coast Conference field hockey action. The Golden Bears fall to 2-5 overall, including 0-2 in the league.

Western New England played the Bison--Commonwealth Coast leaders at 2-0 (and 5-3 overall)--tough, playing to a scoreless tie at halftime.

But Widdison recorded her 11th goal of the season when she ran down the left side of the field and took a shot that just trickled through the pads of WNE goalkeeper Kaitlyn Hall.

Hall finished with seven saves, but the Golden Bears defense was under duress the whole game by getting outshot 20 to 6 and giving up 18 penalty corners.
