Brandon Bolger gave Western New England an early lead, but host Williams needed a big second-half comeback to earn a 4-1 victory Sunday in a second round game of the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship at Cole Field. The Golden Bears, who were making their eighth NCAA tournament appearance since 2004, end their season at 16-5-3. The 13-6 Ephs, meanwhile, move on to the Sectionals to play either Brandeis or Roger Williams.
Bolger scored his second career goal in the 5th minute on a corner kick from senior
Ryan Williams, who upped his team-leading and career-high assist total to 11.

Domenick Villano and Williams end their careers as one of the best at WNE. They combined for 10 All-Commonwealth Coast Conference awards, two conference championships, a pair of NCAA tournament appearances, and winning 68.9 percent of their games (while going 29-6-5 in the CCC).
Western New England finished 24th in the final regular-season Division III rankings in the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America poll.
The Golden Bears' stout defense--just two goals allowed in the previous eight starts--kept the Ephs off the board until the 64th minute on a goal by Jonathan Westling. Matt Muralles put the hosts ahead for good with a tally 4 minutes later.
Williams used another spurt of goals--by Luke Pierce and Westling again--5 minutes apart beginning in the 75th minute, sealing the win.
Villano made several key saves to shut down Williams in the first half, finishing with 11 stops. The Ephs outshot WNE by a 33-3 count and also held a 10-2 edge in corner kicks.
