    DUDLEY, Mass.--Freshman 
Brittany DeLima scored her team-leading sixth goal in overtime to lift Western New England to a thrilling come-from-behind 2-1 victory Friday evening over host Nichols at Vendetti Field for its first Commonwealth Coast Conference field hockey win, improving to 3-5 on the season (1-3 in the CCC). The Bison fall to 2-7 and 0-4 in the conference.
The game-winning tally occurred in the 83rd minute as sophomore 
Hillary Naranjo-Mejia and DeLima combined on a 2-on-0 break on the keeper, with Naranjo-Mejia passing across the goal mouth for an easy tap-in by DeLima on right side of the stroke line.

Michelle Carlson knotted the score at 1-all in the 30th minute, redirecting classmate 
Allison Jackson's shot from inside the circle.
Senior Avery Orszulak had given Nichols a 1-0 advantage in the 21st minute after blasting a penalty corner feed from senior Jenn Townsend. Orszulak is tied with DeLima for fifth in the conference with six goals apiece.
The Bison had several quality scoring chances in the extra session and appeared to win the game when Townsend knocked in a rebound off a shot from Orszulak, but the play was called back on a dangerous ball.
 
After being outshot 9-2 in the first half, Nichols picked up its play in the second half, outshooting the Golden Bears 15-7 while earning 10 penalty corners. Nichols closed the game with a 21-20 edge in shots.
 
Western New England freshman goalie 
Renee Rossignol picked up eight saves to earn her third win of the season, while sophomore Katherine Cotton stopped seven shots.
 
Western New England heads to Wenham, Mass., on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. contest with Gordon. In another CCC match-up, the Bison host Endicott also on Wednesday night.
