Host Western New England Falls to St. Lawrence in Non-CCC Women's Soccer, 4-1

Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Western New England hung with undefeated St. Lawrence for the first 45 minutes, but the visiting Saints scored three goals in the second half to pull away for a 4-1 non-conference women's soccer victory on Sunday at Suprenant Field. The Saints improve to 5-0 on the season while the Golden Bears--home for the first time in 10 days--drop to 1-3-2 overall.

Mimi Coppinger got St. Lawrence on the scoreboard with her first goal of 2015 in the 32nd minute, taking a through-ball from Amanda Hamilton at the top of the penalty area and lofting a shot over the outstretched arms of WNE senior keeper Briana Kubik.

Western New England had a scoring chance minutes earlier when junior Brooke Labrie had her shot from about 15 yards out stopped by goalie Kelsey West at the right post.

In the second half, Lindsay Geier and Kaleigh White scored 3 minutes and 20 seconds apart to put the Saints up with a commanding 3-0 lead.

In the 64th minute, WNE senior Emma Norden was granted a penalty kick after being fouled inside the box but West made a nice diving save to her right. Labrie, however, collected the rebound and dished a pass back to Norden, who slotted her team-leading fourth goal of the season into the back of the net only 29 seconds later.
