Endicott Claims 3-0 Win over Men's Soccer

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College senior forward Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) recorded a hat trick as the Gulls defeated Western New England University 3-0 on Wednesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Hempstead Stadium.

Top Performers
Couchot carried the Gulls offensively, while freshman goalkeeper Zach Regulbuto (Somers, Conn.) made one save in net to earn the shutout.

Game Review
Couchot drew a foul inside the box in the 11th minute and converted the subsequent penalty kick to stake the Gulls to a 1-0 lead.

Early in the second half, Couchot was on the receiving end of a Matthew Cronin (Glastonbury, Conn.) cross, which he was able to head past Western New England freshman goalkeeper Ben Mielnikowski (Agawam, Mass.) and into the lower left corner of the net to make it 2-0.

Couchot was awarded a second penalty kick in the 56th minute, and he capitalized again to complete his hat trick and cap the scoring in the contest.

• Western New England was outshot 13-7, while the two teams were even with six corner kicks each.
• Senior Arcel Kabongo-Ngoy (Lubumbashi, DRC) accounted for the Golden Bears' lone shot on goal in the contest.

Western New England (11-5-1, 3-3 CCC) returns home to host Roger Williams on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Golden Bears will honor their 11 seniors before the start of the contest. Endicott (9-4-2, 4-1-2 CCC) travels to Rochester for a non-conference contest on Saturday.
