SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 21, 2021) – The Western New England University field hockey team opened their season on Wednesday evening in non-conference action at Springfield College.

Top Performers
Junior Taylor Klesyk and senior Haley Daigneault each scored a goal for the Golden Bears. First-year Carly-Anna Barba assisted on both goals.

Emma Wesoloski scored for the Pride while Kirsten Oliver assisted on the goal.

Game Review
The game stayed even until Wesoloski gave the Pride the lead early in the second quarter. The Golden Bears evened things up midway through the third quarter Klesyk scored to tie it at 1-1. The game remained even until the final thirty seconds when Daigneault sank home the game winner.
