Kaylin O'Connor had a huge part in helping the Golden Bears take down the ninth-ranked Gulls of Endicott College this past Friday night, earning Conference of New England Rookie of the Week honors.
O'Connor started the game with the primary assist on the first goal of the night for the Golden Bears, which saw the blue and gold pick up five unanswered tallies on the ninth-ranked Gulls. O'Connor was then on the scoreboard for the second time this season and the first time in Conference of New England play, allowing the Golden Bears to tie the Gulls at two. O'Connor's final point of the night came on Western New England's fourth goal, collecting the secondary assist on the play, finishing out the night with three points, leading the team.
O'Connor has totaled a pair of goals and three assists on the season, good for five points overall through six games played, and has taken 13 shots on goal and recorded one blocked shot. O'Connor and the Western New England women's ice hockey team return to the ice this Thursday, November 20, for a 3:00 PM CNE game against Suffolk University.
