Robinson, Adams, Remiszewski, Calabrese Receive College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team Distinctions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 2, 2025) – The Western New England women's swimming team sees four of their own student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization. The four Golden Bears are all honored for the first time in their careers while the WNE women's swimming team picks up recognition for the first time by the organization.

In order to be recognized by the College Sports Communicators organization on the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). The student-athlete must also be a sophomore academically and have competed in four competitions or finish top eight at a conference meet. The top four student-athletes with the highest grade point average are put forth as nominations.

Senior Amanda Robinson impressed all season long for the Golden Bears women's swimming team. In the Little East Conference (LEC) Championships, the Woodbridge, Connecticut native came away with a season-best time in the 200-yard IM event in the preliminary round, coming in with a 2:40.19 time, knocking off five seconds from her previous career best to get into the finals. Robinson would earn 11th place in the event overall in the finals, again picking up a career-best time, finishing in 2:32.54. Robinson ends her career in blue and gold holding the 400-yard individual medley relay event, which came in 2023 at the Little East Conference Championships.

Senior Alexa Adams holds two WNE women's swimming records to end her career, both coming at this season's LEC Championships. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Adams and three teammates combined to finish the event in 3:54.48, a new best in the program's history. Additionally, Adams guided the Golden Bears in the 200-medley relay race, helping complete a new record in the program's history, finishing with a time of 1:53.85. Individually, Adams came away with a personal best in the 50-yard butterfly event at the LEC Championships to finish her career in blue and gold.

Julia Remiszewski also appears in the Western New England women's swimming records books after her final season in blue and gold, coming away with a top time with teammates in the 400-medley relay event this season at the LEC Championships. Remiszewski helped lead the Golden Bears to a finish in 4:19.27, which would place fourth overall at the event and become a new WNE women's swimming record in the event. Remiszewski added to her career bests in the 200-yard backstroke, picking up a season-best time of 2:28.12, knocking off a full second from her previous high.

WNE sophomore Gianna Calabrese also earns recognition from the College Sports Communicators organization. Calabrese showed out in the 200-yard backstroke event for the Golden Bears at the LEC Championships to end the season dropping over five seconds of her original career-best time in the event and coming away with a 3:05.04 time in the event at the championships, picking up a new career best. Calabrese also earned career-best times in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in 1:23.92 as well as the 50-yard breaststroke, coming in at 38.61 seconds.

The Western New England women's swimming team ended the season with a seventh-place finish out of 12 teams in the Little East Conference Championships, their second-highest finish in program history.
