SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 23, 2026) – The Men's and Women's Track and Field programs are back and ready for season number two. They have officially announced their 2026 Spring season schedule. It encompasses seven regular-season meets, with four new competitions not seen by the student-athletes last season, and two possible postseason meets.

The Golden Bears shone in their inaugural season on the track and in the field events. They have returned, looking to make season two even better. It all starts for the 2026 season, where it last year for WNE, at the USATF New England Indoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday, February 22, 2026. That meet will be held at Gordon Indoor Track at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The team will then go to their first of four new meets of the season on Sunday, March 1, 2026. That meet will be held in Providence, Rhode Island, at Brown University. The team will compete in the Billy Brockmueller Indoor Invitational inside the Olney-Margolies Athletic Center at 11:00 AM. A few weeks later, the team will compete in the J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic, hosted by Wesleyan University. That meet will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at The Andersen Track in Middletown, Connecticut.

The Golden Bears will return to Gordon College, the site of last season's Conference of New England Championships, on Friday, March 27, 2026. They will travel to Wenham, Massachusetts, to the Brigham Athletic Complex for the Jonathan Tymann Invitational, which starts at 11:00 AM. They will return to Springfield, Massachusetts, for their final new meet of the season. The teams will compete in the Springfield College Classic on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Blake Track and Springfield College. The Blue and Gold will keep on marching through the season after the Springfield College Classic as they return to the Jerry Gravel Invitational on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The last time the teams traveled to Jerry Gravel Track at Alumni Field on the campus of Westfield State University, the team had a gold medalist and 14 student-athletes on the podium (top three). The teams will conclude their regular season meets as they did last year, at the Bonnie Edmondson Classic on Friday, April 17, 2026. That meet is hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University at the Mansfield Outdoor Complex in Willimantic, Connecticut. The men placed 5th/12 at that event last season, with the women placing 8th/11.

After the regular season, qualifiers will compete at the Conference of New England Championships on Friday and Saturday, April 24–25, 2026, at the Brigham Athletic Complex at Gordon College, where last year the men placed 6th and the women 7th. The final event for qualifiers is the New England Division III Championships at Blake Track, Springfield College, on May 1–2, 2026. Last season, four athletes qualified; Kayla Kyles and Nolan Palmer return from that group this year.

The track and field programs will once again be led by Coach Jon Harris, who is in his second year as the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field and just concluded his fifth season as the Head Men's and Women's Cross Country coach.
