SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 13, 2026) – The Conference of New England (CNE) has officially announced their Athletes of the Week for the past week, starting on April 6, 2026. The Golden Bears Men's Track and Field program was recognized for having the top relay team in the conference last week.
The Men's 4x400m Relay Team that competed this past Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Jerry Gravel Invitational has been named the CNE's Men's Track and Field Relay Team of the Week. The team consisting of Alex Maurer, Aiden Cooney, Evan Stewart, and Nolan Palmer won the 4x400m relay on Saturday. They won the event by over 5 seconds, running a time of 3:30.13 to earn the gold at the invitational hosted by Westfield State University. That is the fastest 4x400m time by a WNE men's relay team so far this season.
The track and field programs will be back in action this coming Friday, April 17, 2026, when they travel to Mansfield, Connecticut, for the Bonnie Edmondson Classic. That meet starts at noon on Friday.
