CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (February 22, 2026) – The men's and women's track and field teams were back in action on Sunday to start their second season as a program at WNE. The team competed in the 2026 USATF New England Indoor Track & Field Championships at Harvard University and saw a few podium finishes, which hopefully prove to be the start to a very successful season for the Golden Bears.

How it Happened:
On the track, first year
Mia Dodge placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles. Dodge ran a time of 10.37, which placed sixth by 0.02. Then, the women's yards relay team of
Mia Dodge,
Kayla Kyles,
Mackenzie Rinaldo, and
Fallon Lynch would place second with a time of 4:31.02. The men's yards relay saw both Golden Bear teams place top three. The team of
Jerzyon Harrison-Durley,
Jack Straut,
Aiden Cooney, and
Nolan Palmer placed second with a time of 3:36.49, and the team of
Matt Lowe,
Sean Young,
Alex Maurer, and
Evan Stewart placed third with a time of 3:48.52.
In the field events,
Jonathan Eylander,
Dillon Lassard, and
Ethan Jacobson placed fourth, fifth, and sixth in the women's shot put event, respectively. Eylander had a best throw of 12.15 meters. Lassard had a best throw of 11.78 meters, and Jacobson had a best throw of 11.54 meters.
Kayla Kyles would then place second in the women's Long Jump with a best jump of 5.20 meters.
Mackenzie Rinaldo and
Gabrielle Minuti got fifth and sixth place, respectively, in the women's pole vault event. Rinaldo had a final mark of 2.65m and got that mark on the first try. Minuti had a final mark of 2.65, but got that mark on a second attempt. First year,
Jaidyn Gaudreau placed second in the women's high jump event with a 1.42-meter jump.
Jordan Billings would also place in the top six with a sixth-place finish in the men's high jump, jumping 1.78 meters to earn sixth place.

The Golden Bears will be back on the track and in the field next Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM, as they will travel to Providence, Rhode Island and the Billy Brockmueller Indoor Invitational.
