BALTIC, Conn. (April 20, 2026) – The WNE Golf program traveled to Baltic, Connecticut, and the Mohegan Sun Golf Club for the ECSU Spring Invitational on Monday. The Monday tee times saw two Golden Bears shoot below 80 for their rounds. Derek Johnson shot a four-over par, 74, and Alex Noti shot a nine-over par, 79, to lead the squad.
Results: 5th/6 (317 Points)
How it Happened:
Derek Johnson: The sophomore standout for WNE placed first on the team and tied for fourth overall at the Invitational. Johnson finished the day with a final overall round of 74, which is +4 on the round.
Alex Noti: Noti was the second Golden Bear to shoot a round below 80 on Monday. He would shoot +9 on the day and end his round with a 79. Noti tied for thirteenth in the field with that round.
Kyle DeGroff: DeGroff put together a solid round for the Golden Bears at the Mohegan Sun Golf Club in the team's first of two rounds this week. Degroff shot a round of 81, which was +11 for the course.
Mike Bluhm: Bluhm hit the links for the first time during the spring season for the Golden Bears. He would shoot a round of 83 on Monday at the ECSU Spring Invitational. That was thirteen shots over par for the round.
Rian Faiq: Faiq shot a final round of 87 in the invitational down in Baltic, Connecticut, today. Faiq finished the round shooting +17 on the afternoon.
