SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 17, 2026) – 11 members of various Western New England teams have earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large honors, as announced by the organization this week.
The College Sports Communicators organization recognized the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. CSC Academic All-District At-Large honorees represent student-athletes from sports with smaller sponsorship across the national landscape, including men's fencing, men's golf, men's gymnastics, men's ice hockey, men's lacrosse, men's rifle, men's skiing, men's volleyball, men's water polo, and men's wrestling. Women's sports include women's beach volleyball, women's bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, water polo, and wrestling.
Academically, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore status in the classroom, as well as athletically. The student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA) when nominations are due. Preference is given to student-athletes on teams that had an abundance of success and made the conference and/or national tournament. Specific selection criteria are established by the organization for each sport in order to be named to the team.
Five male student-athletes from Western New England,
Derek Johnson (men's golf),
David Noel (men's lacrosse),
Maxwell Bluhm (men's wrestling),
Antonio Intintoli (men's wrestling), and
Charles Maloy (men's wrestling) have received CSC Academic All-District At-Large honors. Six Golden Bears representing women's sports,
Mabel Gerard (women's ice hockey),
Rachael Irving (women's ice hockey),
Jenna Lynch (women's ice hockey),
Linda Holeman (women's wrestling),
Jazmene Molina (women's wrestling), and
Tanya Teneva (women's wrestling), received honors this season.
Derek Johnson, a standout on the links for WNE, was recently named a Division III All-American Honorable Mention by the PING/Golf Coaches Association of America organization, the first All-American in WNE men's golf program history. Johnson won seven tournaments in 2025-26, including a dominant win at the
Conference of New England Championships, shooting eight strokes under par. Johnson finishes 2025-26 ranked 78
th nationally in Division III and currently ranks second overall in the region.
David Noel had a breakout season for the Western New England men's lacrosse team in 2026, helping lead the program back to the top of the Conference of New England with a tournament championship and helping the team advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Over 19 games played this season, the defender made 18 starts, picking up career highs in ground balls (78) and caused turnovers (53), while contributing on the offensive side of the ball with three goals and two assists, good for five total points.
Maxwell Bluhm registered 24 victories for the Golden Bears this past season, going 24-8 on the mat overall. Those 24 wins rank second-most on the team for the Factoryville, Pennsylvania native. Bluhm recorded six wins by fall, six by decision, and six by major decision this season, while adding four technical fall wins to his repertoire. Bluhm took seventh place overall at the NCAA Region I Championships this past season, going 4-2 overall in the 174 lb. weight class at the event.
Antonio Intintoli had an impressive sophomore campaign for the Golden Bears this season at 133 lbs. Intintoli won 21 of his 30 matches, making a splash with six fall victories, five decisions, five major decisions, and three technical fall wins. Intintoli's season was highlighted by a first-place finish at the Will Abele Invitational in January, while the Port Washington, New York, native picked up a win at the NCAA Division III Region I Championships.
Charles Maloy placed seventh at the NCAA Division III Region I Championships this past season in his final year in Blue and Gold. Overall, the Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania, native secured 19 victories on the mat, reaching as high as No. 1 in the region in the 197 lb. weight class. Maloy saw eight wins come via fall, six on decision, and two technical falls and major decisions.
Mabel Gerard put together another outstanding season on the ice this past season for the Western New England women's ice hockey team, leading to All-Conference First Team honors. Gerard played in all 27 games for the Golden Bears in 2025-26, including in both postseason games, helping WNE appear in the program's second championship game in its history. Gerard scored 17 goals and added 13 assists, good for 30 points overall, taking 84 shots, scoring nine goals on the power-play, and scoring four game-winning goals for the season.
Rachael Irving had another outstanding campaign between the pipes for the Golden Bears, making 25 starts. Irving allowed just 44 goals, posting a 1.75 Goals Against Average (GAA) and a .945 save percentage for the season. Irving posted a 17-7-1 record for WNE and recorded a pair of shutouts on the season.
Jenna Lynch played an important part in the success of the team in 2025-26, scoring 12 goals and adding a team-high 19 assists, good for 31 points overall on the year, also a team-high. Lynch took 113 shots on the season, scored three power-play goals, and also had three game-winning goals. Defensively, Lynch blocked 67 shots on the ice, 26 more than any Golden Bear on the year. Lynch is named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the second straight season.
Women's wrestling's
Linda Holeman has been a dominant force on the mat since joining the Blue and Gold. The WNE junior earns CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time in her career following an impressive campaign that saw the Preston, Connecticut, native earn 26 wins over 32 matches. Holeman opened the season with a second-place finish at the Princeton Open and continued to dominate the mat from there. Holeman won the 124 lb. weight class at the Will Abele Invitational and took second place at the first-ever NCAA Women's Region I Championships to advance to the NCAA National Championships for the third time in her career.
Jazmene Molina went 21-6 on the mat this season for Western New England in her first year in Blue and Gold. Molina placed second at the Princeton Open to begin the season, while placing second at both the New Standard Corporation Invitational and the NCAA Region I Championships, advancing to the NCAA Division III National Championships, and earning a victory on the national stage.
Tanya Teneva earned 26 victories on the mat this season for Western New England over 34 matches. Teneva wrestled to seven victories in seven matches this season at the East Stroudsburg University duals, earning five technical fall victories and two fall wins. Teneva wrestled twice on the national stage, going 3-1 at the 2026 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals, and also wrestled at the NCAA Division III National Championships for the second straight season.
