BOSTON, Mass. â€" Sophomore Nicole Zielinski (Foxboro, MA) scored the winning goal 4:58 into overtime to lead top-seeded Simmons College to a 1-0 victory over third-seeded Western New England College in a championship match of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament.

WNEC out-shot the Sharks by an 18-8 margin, but couldn't score in suffering only its second shutout of the season.

This was the second straight year that the Golden Bears (12-8-1) finished second in the GNAC Tournament.

Junior Renee Robichaud (Peabody, MA), and sophomores Megan DeAngelo (East Longmeadow, MA) and Ashley St. John (Barre, VT) made the GNAC All-Tournament Team.
