NASHUA, N.H. â€" Third-seeded Western New England College captured the 2004 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament with a doubleheader sweep over top-seeded Johnson & Wales University by the scores of 9-6 and 17-7.

This was Owner's' first conference tournament title since 2001.

The Golden Bears will now now advance to a NCAA Division III Regional Championship later this month.

Sophomore pitcher/second baseman Jason Connelly (Scituate, MA) was named the tournament MVP.

Western New England College (29-10) won four of five games in a 48-hour stretch in tying the school record for wins in a season previously established in 2002.
