Box Score SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - Western New England College scored the last three goals of the second half, but Mount Holyoke College came back for a 13-11 overtime victory in a non-conference game.
Junior Alyson Nowell (Feeding Hills, MA) led the Golden Bears with four goals while sophomore Alia Andrews (Westfield, MA) tallied three times (including two goals in the final 1:39 of regulation) and had an assist.
Sophomore Audrey Kelton (Wilder, VT) added a goal and two assists while senior Kristen Pimental (Tiverton, RI) chipped-in with two goals. Junior goalie Tara Cushman (Scituate, MA) finished with 18 saves.
In women's lacrosse, when a game ends in a tie, there are a pair of three-minute overtime periods to decide to outcome of the contest. Mount Holyoke scored once in the first session, then twice in the second overtime. Nowell's fourth goal pulled the Golden Bears within 12-11 at the 1:54 mark before the Lyons added an insurance goal 26 seconds later.
Western New England College now has a 6-5 record entering a game Tuesday (April 19) at city rival Springfield College.
