Box Score CASTLETON, Vt. - Western New England College put the finishing touches on its third consecutive perfect regular season in the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) with a 19-5 victory over host Castleton State in the rain Monday.
The Golden Bears (10-4) ran their winning streak to five games after winning the conference crown with a 6-0 record.
With coach Aimee Klepacki under the weather, team members made her feel a little better by jumping to a 9-0 lead midway through the first half and a 14-1 advantage at intermission.
Sophomore Kayte Devine (New Fairfield, CT) led the way with five goals while junior Jess Vogel (Tonawanda, NY) and freshman Michelle Thompson (Wilbraham, MA) each added two goals and two assists.
Freshman Michelle Dolan-Hardcastle (Springfield, MA) contributed a pair of goals and an assist. Senior Cara Gandy (Ira, VT) and freshman Molly Chamberlain (New Britain, CT) each tallied twice.
Western New England College will visit Bridgewater State in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday (Apr. 26).
