HENNIKER, N.H. – The Western New England College men's soccer team couldn't convert a couple of scoring opportunities as host New England College posted a 1-0 victory in a spirited The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) match Saturday afternoon (Oct. 6).

This was the first shutout of the season for the Golden Bears who saw their record dip to 7-4-2 overall and 6-2 in the conference.

Scott Ryan (Pelham, NH) had the game-winning goal for the Pilgrims in the 41st minute.

WNEC sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Bak (Cumberland, RI) finished with two saves while Nick Kropelin stopped five shots for the the hosts (8-3) who moved into first place in TCCC with a 7-2 mark.
