SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 21, 2026) – Western New England men's soccer's Jack Leland has received accolades from the United Soccer Coaches Association, named to the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-Region Team, taking second team honors. 

Leland, a senior history major at Western New England, earning a cumulative GPA of 3.90 in the classroom while also playing heavy minutes for the Golden Bears this past season. On the pitch, Leland saw action in all 20 games, making 20 starts on defense. The Brimfield, Massachusetts, native also helped the Golden Bears on the offensive side of the ball, scoring three goals and adding an assist during the season. All of Leland's goals this season came in Conference of New England play. Leland totaled seven points on the season while taking 18 shots, putting ten on goal. 

The United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region program recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement while competing at a high level on the field. Leland is the first Golden Bear to be honored with this award since 2022 and the second in program history overall. 
Leland and the Western New England men's soccer team wrapped up a 2025 season in which they accumulated nine wins, completing a 9-8-3 record overall, going 6-3-1 in Conference of New England (CNE) play this season, and advanced to the CNE semifinals for the fourth straight season.
