SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (July 8, 2026) – The Western New England men's soccer team has announced its 2026 season schedule ahead of its opening game of the campaign, slated for Tuesday, September 1 at Western Connecticut State University.
The 2026 schedule features eight home games to be played at Suprenant Field, with five of those contests coming in Conference of New England play. WNE hits the road for nine games overall, including the season opener at Western Connecticut State University on Tuesday, September 1, at 4:00 PM. The home opener follows, with the Golden Bears playing on back-to-back days, both at Suprenant Field. Western New England welcomes Thomas College for a Saturday afternoon tilt on Saturday, September 5, at 1:30 PM before welcoming Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Sunday, September 6, at 2:00 PM, both in non-conference action. From there, the Golden Bears head to Wheaton College (Mass.) on Wednesday, September 9 for a 4:00 PM start in the final tune-up game before beginning Conference of New England (CNE) action.
CNE play opens in Springfield when the Golden Bears host Nichols College on Saturday, September 12 at 2:30 PM. WNE looks to make it three wins in a row over the Bison and six of their last seven overall. Western New England has outscored Nichols 13-0 over the last two meetings. The Golden Bears continue conference play on Saturday, September 19, at 3:00 PM in Bristol, Rhode Island, traveling to Roger Williams University in a rematch of last season's CNE Semifinal round, where the Blue and Gold were eliminated in penalty kicks. WNE returns home on Tuesday, September 22, for a non-conference showdown with the Cardinals of Wesleyan University at 5:00 PM. The busy month of September wraps up with a pair of contests for WNE, hosting Wentworth Institute of Technology in CNE play on Saturday, September 26 at 2:30 PM, while traveling to the United States Coast Guard Academy on Tuesday, September 29 at 6:00 PM. WNE has won its last seven meetings over Wentworth, and is 1-1-1 all-time against Coast Guard.
Western New England's road game at Coast Guard begins a stretch of five consecutive games away from home. WNE will compete in three straight CNE road contests, beginning on the road at the University of New England on Saturday, October 3, at 12:00 PM. WNE is 19-1-1 all-time over the Nor'easters and has claimed victory in their last ten meetings, allowing just three goals in that span. WNE will then take on Endicott College on Wednesday, October 7, at 7:00 PM. The Golden Bears earned a 1-0 win on home field over the Gulls last season and own a 7-7-5 record overall against Endicott. The Golden Bears round out their three straight road CNE contests with a stop in Boston, traveling to Suffolk University on Saturday, October 10. WNE is in search of its first win in four games over Suffolk, going 0-2-1 in the last three.
The Golden Bears play their final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday, October 14, at 7:00 PM, capping a five-game road trip, visiting Clark University. WNE is 2-1-2 in the last five against the Cougars. Conference of New England play concludes the regular season schedule for the Blue and Gold. WNE finishes the regular season with three home contests in its final four games. Johnson & Wales University visits Springfield for the first time since 2007 on Saturday, October 17, for a 2:30 PM kickoff. WNE then hosts Gordon College on Wednesday, October 21, for a midweek matchup at 3:30 PM. The Golden Bears are 3-0-2 in their last five against the Fighting Scots. The final road contest of the regular season comes at Curry College on Saturday, October 24, at 2:00 PM. WNE looks to make it three straight victories over the Colonels. The Golden Bears are 8-1-1 in their last ten against Curry. The regular season wraps up with a conference contest against the University of Hartford on Wednesday, October 28, at 3:30 PM. Western New England claimed an overtime victory over the Hawks last season in the opening round of the CNE Tournament and is 3-1 all-time since Hartford joined the conference as a full member in 2023. The Conference of New England Tournament will begin just after the regular season ends, slated for opening round matchups on Saturday, October 31, CNE Semifinal rounds on Tuesday, November 3, and the CNE Championship Game on Saturday, November 7.
