SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Stacey Fredrickson (Manchester, CT) scored the first four goals of her career and junior Kayte Devine (New Fairfield, CT) contributed three goals and three assists as Western New England College defeated visiting Castleton State College 21-6 in its New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) opener Saturday (Mar. 31).

Devine also became only the fifth player in program history to reach 100 career goals.

Junior Julianna Mulroy (Wellesley, MA) added three goals and a pair of assists, sophomore Lindsay Fenton (Amherst, MA) three goals and an assist, and senior Audrey Kelton (Wilder, VT) two goals and three assists.

Mulroy scored a minute into the game as the Golden Bears (2-3) raced to a 15-1 lead at half-time.

Junior Erin Barry (Randolph, VT) led the Spartans (1-1, 1-1 NEWLA) with two goals while freshman Stephanie Pearce (Shoreham, NY) had a goal and assist.
