Box Score WESTON, Mass. - Seven players scored points as the Western New England College men's soccer team downed host Regis College Saturday afternoon (Oct. 18).
The victory gave the Golden Bears (ranked 14th nationally) a 10-1-4 record, stretched their unbeaten streak to 14 and kept the squad undefeated in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) at 7-0-3.
Senior defender Kevin Zimbal (Schenectady, NY) started the scoring in the ninth minute, and senior forward Dan Hare (Staatsburg, NY) and senior midfielder Brian Dill (Portland, CT) followed with goals in the 15th and 23rd minutes, respectively, for a 3-0 advantage at intremission.
Junior midfielder Ryan Nugent (Bath, PA) added the final goal in the 74th minute.
Senior forward Dale Totman (Conway, MA) contributed two assists while senior midfielders Jim Maples (Pleasant Valley, NY) and Casey Schick (Glen Rock, NJ) each added an assist in the contest.
Junior goalkeeper Kevin Bak (Cumberland, RI), filling-in for the injured Dan Ruscigno, played the opening half and made one save.
The Regis Pride (0-15, 0-10 TCCC) averted the shutout when Josh Fidalago hit the back of the net with 45 seconds left in the match. Andrew LaMacchia finished with 19 saves.
