SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Western New England College men's soccer team is heading back to the finals of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Tournament.
Junior forward Jason Sabia (Poughkeepsie, NY) scored five points with two goals and an assist as the top-seeded Golden Bears cruised to a 5-0 victory over fifth-seeded Salve Regina Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 5) in a semifinal round match of the conference tournament.
WNEC, who moved up three spots to 12th in this week's NCAA Division III poll, will host seven-seeded Nichols (a 1-0 upset winner over third-seeded Curry) at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 8) in the title match. The conference champion receives an automatic invitation to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Senior forward Dale Totman (Conway, MA) added a goal and assist as the Golden Bears improved their record to 15-1-5.
Since starting the season with a loss against SUNY New Platz, coach Erin Sullivan's squad has been unbeaten in 20 consecutive contests.

WNEC broke the game open with two quick goals in the opening 2:20 of the second stanza.
Sabia tallied his first goal with an assist from Totman at the 46:13 mark, then Totman fired home a shot with an assist from Sabia 1:07 later.
Sabia added his second score with an assist from Martins on another corner kick in the 58th minute.
Sophomore forward John Parsons (Sunderland, MA) completed the scoring in the 70th minute on a breakaway with an assist from junior midfielder Tony Rosa (Ludlow, MA).
Junior goalkeeper Kyle Bak (Cumberland, RI) made three saves for his fourth shutout of the season while improving his record to 7-1-3.
Western New England College had a 20-12 advantage in shots and 9-6 edge in corner kicks.
Junior keeper Kurt Ginthwain (Tolland, CT) stopped six shots for the Seahawks (10-8-2).
