NEWPORT, R.I. - Nine players scored goals as the Western New England College women's lacrosse team posted an easy 20-7 victory over host Salve Regina Saturday afternoon (Apr. 16).

Junior Michelle Thompson (Wilbraham, MA) led the way with three goals and three assists followed by senior Kaitlin Zangle (Wingdale, NY) with three goals and an assist.

Senior Julianna Mulroy (Wellesley, MA) and freshman Jeanmarie Barbato (Huntingtin Station, NY) each poured in three goals.

Junior Lindsey Fenton (Pelham, MA) added two goals and an assist along with four draw controls.

Freshman goalie Marissa Bonitatibus (Yorktown Heights, NY) played the first half and allowed only two goals while making 10 saves.

Western New England College took a commanding 13-2 lead at halftime and never looked back. This was the 10th time this season that an opponent scored less than 10 goals.

WNEC has a 12-4 record after winning for the sixth time in its last seven starts. The Golden Bears are 7-2 in the conference.

Brittany Marino and Nicole Fecteau each netted a pair of goals for the Seahawks who drop to 5-10 overall and 2-6 in the conference.
