Box Score NORTON, Mass. - The Western New England College men's soccer team picked-up its first win of the season with a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Husson College (Maine) in the second day of competition at the Wheaton Adidas Kick-Off Classic Saturday afternoon (Aug. 30) at Keefe Field.
Senior Dale Totman (Conway, MA) scored twice, including the game-winner in the 67th minute, as the Golden Bears rebounded from Friday's 4-1 loss to New Paltz.
The Eagles (0-2) took a 1-0 lead on a goal by freshman Tyler Metevier (Kittery, ME) just 8:44 into the match.
WNEC (1-1) tied the game just 30 seconds later when senior Dale Hare (Staatsburg, NY) tallied his first of the season with an assist from Totman.
Totman's first goal of the contest in the 20th minute, with an assist from Hare, helped the Golden Bears take a 2-1 advantage at halftime.
Husson knotted the contest on a goal by senior Jeff Truchon (Greene, ME) in the 64th minute.
Totman, who finished with five points, put Western New England College ahead for good at the 66:07 mark with an assist from junior Nick Zarka (Farmington, CT).
Junior goalkeeper Dan Ruscigno (Wappingers Falls, NY) had four saves in the first starting assignment for the Golden Bears.
Sophomore Miguel Dominquez (Rome, GA) stopped seven shots for the Eagles
Western New England College outshot Husson by a 21-12 margin.
