Overtime goal by Justin Martins leads Western New England College over TCCC rival Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass.
- Junior midfielder Justin Martins (Ludlow, MA) scored the game-winner 3:23 into overtime to lead the Western New England College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over upset-minded Eastern Nazarene Wednesday night (Sept. 30) at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Sophomore forward John Rusin (Chicopee, MA) assisted on the winning shot, which was his first collegiate point.

WNEC out-shot the hosts by a 24-11 margin, including a big 18-4 advantage in the second half.

Junior goalkeeper Andrew Trice (Quincy, MA) recorded 10 saves for the Lions with three quality stops coming in the second half.

Senior Kyle Bak (Cumberland, RI) had another solid effort stopping seven attempts for his fifth shutout of the season.

Western New England College improves to 6-4-1 overall with its third consecutive victory and 3-2 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). 

The Golden Bears are 1-1-1 in overtime contests this season.

Eastern Nazarene remains winless at 0-10 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
