ONEONTA, N.Y. - The SUNY Oneonta men's soccer team remained undefeated after posting a 3-1 victory over No. 22 Western New England College in the championship match of the Mayor's Cup Tournament Saturday (Sept. 12).
The Red Dragons raised their record to 6-0 while the Golden Bears drop to 3-2.
Oneonta took advantage of a WNEC miscue for an Own goal in the ninth minute and freshman
Eric Fortier (Pleasant Valley, NY) scored a goal in the 17th minute to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage at the break.

Justin Martins (Ludlow, MA) put Western New England College on the board in the 47th minute with an assist from senior
Jason Sabia (Poughkeepsie, NY).
Sophomore
Nicholas Gregg (Apalachin, NY) tallied an insurance goal with an assist from junior
Jason Flores (Schenectady, NY) in the 64th minute.

The home team held a 10-5 advantage in shots and 9-3 margin in corner kicks.

Evan Jedynak (Malta, NY) was voted the Tournament Offensive MVP after scoring both goals in the Red Dragons' 2-1 win over William Paterson on Saturday. Freshman
Ian Tenzer (Mahopac, NY) was selected the Defensive MVP.
Martins earned a spot on the All-Tournament along with seniors
