SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Western New England College men's soccer team scored a season high for goals in posting an 8-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) match at Suprenant Field on Wednesday (Oct. 6) afternoon.
The Golden Bears have won six of their last seven games to improve to 8-4-1 overall and 6-1 in the league. The Lions drop to 1-9 and 0-7 in the league.
Western New England College jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the opening five minutes of play and enjoyed a 5-0 advantage heading in to the break.
Sophomore forward
Tony DeCato (Winsted, CT) and freshman forward
Ryan Williams (Brewster, NY) each notched a pair of goals to lead the way.
Senior midfielders
Alex Dos Santos (Ludlow, MA),
Justin Martins (Ludlow, MA) and junior midfielder
Eric Marcelino (Farmington, CT) each contributed a goal and an assist.
Junior defender
Mark Deganis tallied the Golden Bears' final goal, while junior midfielder
Shawn Fitzpatrick (Burnt Hills, NY) chipped in with two assists.
Freshman midfielder
Alex Mazella (Cheshire, CT) also picked up an assist.

Sean Healey (Portland, CT) and sophomore goalkeeper
Nick Starr (Somers, CT) each made four saves in the contest.
Eastern Nazarene junior goalkeeper
