Western New England College returns to action with shutout win over Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass.
- Playing for the first time in eight days, the Western New England College men's tennis team blanked Eastern Nazarene 9-0 Thursday afternoon (April 1).

The Golden Bears upped their record to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). The Lions drop to 1-6 and 0-2 in the league.

Western New England College dropped only 17 points in sweeping the six singles matches.

Junior Brian Relihan (Orange, MA) led the way with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles while classmate Mike Jones (Stone Ridge, NY) took a 6-2, 6-4 decision at the No. 2 singles spot. They also claimed an 8-3 win at the top doubles spot.

Also taking single matches three through six in straight sets were freshman Chris Holzinger (Foster, RI), sophomore JonPaul Ouellette (Bethlehem, CT), and juniors Travis Orszulak (Springfield, MA) and Matt Minahan (Plymouth, MA).

Holzinger and Ouellette also posted an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles while Orszulak and Minahan rolled to an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
