Season ends after Western New England College drops playoff match against Colby-Sawyer

Match Results

HANOVER, N.H. - The season is over for the Western New England College men's tennis team after dropping a 5-1 decision against Colby-Sawyer Monday afternoon (Apr. 26) in a quarterfinal round match of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Tournament at the Boss Tennis Center on the Dartmouth College campus.

The Golden Bears ended their campaign with a 9-9 record while the Chargers raised their mark to 10-10.

Junior Matt Minahan (Plymouth, MA) posted a 6-3, 6-3 win at the number six singles position for the lone Western New England College victory.

Conference tournament rules call for the match to end after a team clinches a victory so three singles weren't completed after WNEC players won their opening set.

This was the 11th consecutive season (and third in TCCC) that the Golden Bears qualified for their league tournament. Western New England College previously competed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
