SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Western New England University women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision Saturday at the hands of visiting Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Volvo Outdoor Tennis Facility. The Golden Bears fall to 1-4 overall, including 0-3 in the league, while the Fighting Scots are now 1-4 and 1-2.
Western New England picked up wins at No. 1 and 6 singles behind
Linda Mustafa and
Gillian Adams, respectively. Mustafa defeated Lily Drescher in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. Adams had a tougher road but came back from one-set down and had to go through a third-set tiebreaker to edge Rachel Kauffman, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4).
