Reigning CCC Rookie of the Week freshman
Troy Remillard got WNE on the board in the 24th minute on a combination play where junior
Chad Burke took a feed from freshman
Maurice Young and one-timed a pass to Remillard for his second career goal.
Burke added an insurance goal, unassisted, in the 52nd minute when he picked up a poorly cleared ball by the Seahawks defense and sent a shot into the left part of the net from about 16 yards out. Burke now has three goals and three assists for nine total points to extend personal highs in all three categories as the team's leading scorer.
Salve outshot the Golden Bears 16 to 12, including an 8-4 margin in the first half, but was kept off the board by a starting defense of senior co-captain
Chris Bruton, junior co-captain
Colin Macdonald, sophomores
Brandon Bolger,
Neil Williams and freshman
Matthew Chmura, and Strobel. Strobel also tops the CCC with 127 saves.
Senior Alex Wasilewski led the Seahawks in shots with five, including two on target. Junior goalkeeper Daniel Stern made three saves.
