QUINCY, Mass.--The Western New England University men's tennis squad took a tough 8-1 loss at the hands of host Eastern Nazarene College on Thursday. The Golden Bears fall to 8-7 overall while the Lions improve to 7-9 on the year; both teams now stand at 4-3 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
Sophomore
Alexander Sause recorded WNE's lone point at No. 2 singles in a retirement by Andres Biondi.
Junior
John Mindek battled Davis Steelman in a three-setter at the fifth singles slot. The two traded 6-3 decisions before Steelman earned a 7-6 victory in the deciding frame.
Western New England will have its regular-season finale at home on Wednesday (3:30 p.m.) against two-time defending conference champion and preseason favorite Nichols College at the Volvo Outdoor Courts in Springfield. Up next for ENC is a home match against Curry on the same day.
