Box Score MANSFIELD, Conn.--The Western New England University baseball team dropped a 4-2 non-conference decision at the hands of Eastern Connecticut State University at Eastern Baseball Stadium on Wednesday. The visiting Golden Bears fall to 13-17-1 overall while the Warriors improve to 21-6.

Sophomore reliever Patrick O'Neill diffused a bases loaded, none-out situation in the seventh inning of a tie game and senior Nik Ververis drove in senior shortstop Brendan Lynch
with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the frame with a two-out double.
Junior Kyle Hart got the Warriors on the board in the fourth when he doubled off senior starter
Brendan Nugent and came home on Mike Vaccarelli's single, and Eastern knotted the game at 2-all in the fifth when Ververis reached on a fielder's choice, raced to third on senior Gavin Lavallee's two-out single, and scored on a wild pitch.
Western New England is back in action at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for a non-conference affair.
