SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 15, 2018) – The Western New England University men's soccer team fell victim to a second half rally by Springfield College on Monday evening as the Pride came from behind to earn a 2-1 victory over the Golden Bears in non-conference action at Brock-Affleck Field.

Top Performers
Junior Charlie Argyle (Marshfield, Mass.) scored Western New England's lone goal with assists from classmates Connor Prindle (Shelton, Conn.) and Brendan Claflin (Burlington, Mass.).

Junior goalkeeper Dylan Husted (South Deerfield, Mass.) made his third straight start in net and finished with six saves on eight shots.

Springfield's offense was led by seniors Christian Schneider (Douglass, Mass.) and Ian Zacharewicz (Stamford, Conn.), who both found the back of the net in the second half.

Game Review
The Golden Bears jumped out to a 1-0 lead just under eight minutes into the contest, when Claflin and Prindle set up Argyle for the game's opening goal.

Junior Ty Champagne (Watertown, Conn.) put a shot on target in the tenth minute, but the Western New England offense was contained the rest of the way as the Golden Bears held a 1-0 edge at halftime.

The Pride equalized in the 59th minute on Schneider's fifth goal of the season, before Zacharewicz converted from the penalty spot in the 71st minute to put the home team ahead.

The Springfield defense surrendered just one shot down the stretch as the Pride held on for the one-goal victory.

Notes

• Argyle, Prindle & Claflin all began their collegiate careers at Springfield before transferring to Western New England.
