Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 1, 2021) – The Western New England University men's lacrosse team defeated Salve Regina 16-5 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action in their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.
Top Performers
Senior Conor Tracy and junior Mike Bannon each scored three goals for the Golden Bears. Seniors Jared Newall, Brendan Lyons, and sophomore Dylan Hanley each scored two goals. Senior Jack Seiter went 13-for-18 on faceoffs.
Pat Leary scored two goals for the Seahawks.
Game Review
It was an even first quarter, ending 2-2 after graduate student Nick Gamba and Tracy each scored. Western New England outscored Salve Regina 3-1 in the second quarter after goals from Bannon, Newall, and Tracy.
The Golden Bears kept their foot on the gas by scoring four goals in the third quarter to take a 9-3 lead into the final frame. They kept the momentum going by scoring seven more goals, including two from Lyons and two from Bannon.
