- Western New England: 3-0-1
- Keene State: 0-2-1
How it Happened:
Western New England continued their balance attack as they have all season in the first half against Keene State. WNE took eight shots on GK Anthony Pasciuto, though Pasciuto was up to the task on both shots on goal from Western New England. The Golden Bears saw their best chance come to play when Matt Remillard took two dribbles into the box and took a right footed shot that was blocked down but rolled right to Pasciuto to shut down the Golden Bears chance. WNE took just one corner kick in the first 45 minutes, while Keene State, still in search of their first goal of the season, took three.
Western New England would quickly test the defense of Keene State in the opening minute of the second half at again it was Matt Remillard who got a head on the ball after WNE was awarded a free kick, though Pasciuto stood his ground between the pipes for the Owls, not allowing the Golden Bears to get anything past. Keene State would take their first shot on Brady Allen in the 68th minute when Mbambi Mbungu took a laser shot on goal, though Allen was in good position to make the save.
The Golden Bears and Owls would play an even contest down the stretch. Western New England would be awarded with their fourth and final corner kick of the half with just 20 seconds remaining in the contest. After the ball was kicked into the box by Sean O'Neill, Matt Remillard got a head on it that flew to the back post, right to where Andrew Crean was standing. With two seconds to play, Crean headed the ball past the diving Anthony Pasciuto and into the back of the cage to give Western New England the 1-0 win. Crean collects his first collegiate goal of his career with the winner for the Golden Bears.
