SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 20, 2025) – Western New England men's soccer sophomore
Tyler Lewis has claimed his second Conference of New England weekly honor this season, being named the CNE Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Lewis earned the award after helping the Golden Bears to two big CNE victories, a 1-0 home win over Endicott College and a 3-1 road win at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Lewis began the week with the only goal of the game in the win over the Gulls, coming in the 55
th minute to secure the victory. Lewis notched his second game-winning goal of the season and sixth overall for the year in the victory. The Suffield, Connecticut native continued his excellent week with two more goals, including the eventual game-winning goal in the road contest at Wentworth. Lewis opened the game with a tally in the 19
th minute to get the Golden Bears rolling before adding another goal in the 57
th minute, helping WNE to its sixth CNE victory of the season out of eight tries. Lewis's second goal of the game over Wentworth held as the game-winning goal and was his eighth goal of the season, which leads the team.
The WNE sophomore leads the conference in shot attempts this season with 51 and shots on goal with 28. Lewis is second in the conference in both goals and points (20) and is tied for second with game-winning goals (3).
Lewis and the Golden Bears have three games remaining on its regular season schedule, Wednesday, October 22 at Trinity College (7:00 PM), Saturday, October 25 vs. Suffolk University (2:30 PM), and Tuesday, October 29 at Johnson & Wales University (4:00 PM).
